Use it!

Clicking this icon opens the References dialog box, which is used to manage references.

Key-in: dialog reference

The References icon contains an adjacent down arrow. Clicking on the down arrow opens the dialog box in a pop-up mode. It closes automatically when the pointer moves off the dialog box. Clicking on the icon opens the dialog box in a static mode, as in the past.
