Dimension Location (Stacked)

Used to dimension linear distance from an origin. The dimensions are stacked.

The Stack Offset — which controls the distance between dimension lines — is set in the Dimension Lines category of the Dimension Styles dialog box.

Tool Setting	Effect
Style	Displays the active dimension style. Drop-down list box allows you to select other available dimension styles.
Magnifying glass icon	Opens the Dimension Styles dialog box, which is used to control settings for dimensioning.
Alignment	Sets the axis along which the dimension is aligned.
Association	If on, snapping a tentative point to the element being dimensioned causes an association point to be created. If off, no associations are created.

Enter a data point to define the length of the extension line (the offset distance from the origin to the dimension line).
If Alignment is set to Drawing or View, this data point also defines the dimension axis.

If Location is set to Manual, enter a data point to position the dimension text.

(Optional) To edit the dimension text, move the input focus to the Key-in window and press <Enter>.
The Dimension Text dialog box opens if it is not already open, letting you edit the dimension text.

Go back to step 4 to dimension another location from the same origin.

Reset to place the dimension in the design.

(Optional) Go back to step 3 to dimension locations in a different direction (turn the corner), using the previous data point as the origin.
or
(Optional) Reset and go back to step 2 to start a new stacked location dimension from a different origin.

Turn off Adjust Dimension Line in the Dimension Styles dialog box (Placement category) when using Dimension Location (Stacked).
