Project Active Point Onto Element


Use it!

Used to construct the Active Point on an element at the point closest to the data point.

Tool SettingEffect
Point Type

Sets the Active Point Type:

  • Element
  • — A zero-length line.
  • Character
  • — A character.
  • Cell
  • — A cell.
Character

If the Active Point Type is Character, the character.

Cell

If the Active Point Type is Cell, the Active Point Cell.

Browse Cell(s)

Opens the Cell Library dialog box for setting an Active Point Cell.

To project the Active Point onto an element
  1. Select the Project Active Point Onto Element tool.

  2. Identify the element. See Identifying elements.

  3. Enter a data point to project the Active Point—that is, place it on the element at the point closest to the data point.
