Match Element Attributes


Use it!

Used to change the active element attribute settings so they match the attributes of an element in the design.

To match an element's level and symbology attributes (those that are on in the Tool Settings window)
  1. Select the element.

  2. Select the Match Element Attributes tool.

  3. Accept the new active element attributes.

Alternative Method — To match an element's level and symbology attributes (those that are on in the Tool Settings window)
  1. Select the Match ElementAttributes tool.

  2. Identify the element.

  3. Accept the new active element attributes.

To match an element's level and symbology attributes
  1. Key in MATCH SYMBOLOGY.

  2. Identify the element whose symbology is required.

  3. Accept with a data point.

Alternative Method — To match an element's level and symbology attributes
  1. With AccuSnap enabled, hover the pointer over the element whose symbology you want matched.

  2. Key in MATCH SYMBOLOGY FROMCURSOR.
    The Active Attributes are changed to match those of the highlighted element.

To match individual element attributes
  1. Key in MATCH <attribute>.
    Where <attribute> is any of the following: COLOR, LEVEL, STYLE, WEIGHT, to match the element's color, level, line style, or line weight, respectively.

  2. Identify the element whose symbology you want to match.

  3. Accept with a data point.

Alternative Method — To match individual element attributes
  1. With AccuSnap enabled, hover the pointer over the element whose attribute you want matched.
    AccuSnap must be enabled.

  2. Key in MATCH <attribute> FROMCURSOR.
    Where <attribute> is any of the following COLOR, LEVEL, STYLE, WEIGHT.
    The Active Attribute is changed to match that of the highlighted element.

Key-in: MATCH [COLOR | LEVEL | STYLE | WEIGHT | SYMBOLOGY] [fromcursor]

To match all element attribute settings, including those that are specific to an element type such as dimension or text, use the Match All Element Settings (SmartMatch) tool.

To change the color, line style, line weight, or level of an element(s) to the active element attributes, use the Change Element Attributes tool.
