Mirror Raster


Use it!

Used to mirror the selected raster image horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. Additionally, you can specify the axis about which the image is mirrored. Only one image at a time may be mirrored.

You can select the required raster image prior to selecting the Mirror tool, or you can select the Mirror tool first and then select the raster image interactively.

Lets you choose, via an option menu, how to mirror the raster image.

  • Horizontal (-)
  • — Mirrors the selected image about a horizontal axis. If Specify Axis Location is off, the horizontal axis defaults to the center of the image.
  • Vertical (|)
  • — Mirrors the image about a vertical axis. If Specify Axis Location is off, the vertical axis defaults to the center of the image.
  • Diagonal Down/Up (/)
  • — Mirrors the image about a diagonal axis. If Specify Axis Location is off, the axis defaults to a line from the lower left to upper right of the image.
  • Diagonal Up/Down (\)
  • — Mirrors the image about a diagonal axis. If Specify Axis Location is off, the axis defaults to a line from the upper left to lower right of the image.

If ON, a data point specifies the location of the axis about which the image is mirrored.

To mirror an image interactively
  1. Select the raster Mirror tool.

  2. Set the Mirror About option menu to the required method.

  3. (Optionally) Turn on Specify Axis Location.

  4. Identify the raster image.
    If Specify Axis Location is OFF, the image is mirrored.

  5. If Specify Axis Location is ON, define the axis location, with a data point.
    The image is mirrored about the data point.

To mirror a selected image
  1. Using the Select Rasters tool, or via the Raster Manager dialog box, select the required raster image.

  2. Select the raster Mirror tool.

  3. Set the Mirror About option menu to the required method.

  4. (Optionally) Turn on Specify Axis Location.

  5. Accept to mirror the raster image. If Specify Axis Location is ON, this data point also defines the location of the axis.
