Label Line


Use it!

Used to label the length and the direction of a line in a 2D design. This method of orienting a dimension is also available as an option of the Dimension Element tool for linear elements.

Location is set in the Dimension Styles box (Placement category).

Style

Displays the active dimension style. Drop-down list box allows you to select other available dimension styles.

Magnifying glass icon

Opens the Dimension Styles dialog box, which is used to control settings for dimensioning.

Association Lock
  • If on, snapping a tentative point to the element being dimensioned causes an association point to be created.

  • If off, no associations are created.

To label the length and direction of a line
  1. Select the Label Line tool.

  2. Identify the line. If Location is set to Automatic or if it is an association point, this point positions the label origin. (See illustration below left.)

  3. If Location is set to Manual and the first data point was not an association point, enter a data point to position the label origin. (See illustration below right.)

Key-in: LABEL LINE

To reverse an element's direction, use the Change Element Direction tool in the Curves tool box.

To get angle to display in bearing mode, switch the Display option under Angle Format in the category Unit Format.
